The Royal Castle Basement is where Gerrant makes his nest after being wounded in the fight against Velskud. Gerrant prevents entry to everyone but a few trusted people, frustrating the attempts of Bishop Ignacio to kidnap Rose. However, the nest collapses Gerrant is killed fighting Leviatha, allowing Ignacio to take Rose and flee. Ignacio and Gerrant disappear from their respective areas in the Royal Castle afterwards.
Rose reappears in the Royal Castle Basement upon Teram's return to the Royal Castle.
